Most Americans spend 90% of their time indoors, where pollutants may be at levels 200% to 500% higher than outdoors, even in cities with a lot of air pollution. The EPA lists indoor air quality (IAQ) as the 4th largest environmental threat to our country.

Dust mites in particular affect indoor air quality. Although they are invisible to the eye, dust mites live off the gunk that sinks down into the carpet. Every time someone walks across the carpet, dust mites and  pollutants are released into the air. Pollutants can stay airborne for an hour or more, so that the average home will always have these particulates in the air. This is especially harmful to those with allergies. This is why we believe carpet cleaning is foremost a health issue, secondarily an appearance issue.

When your carpets are cleaned using CitruSolution, they don’t just look good. Our cleaner contains d-Limonene, a naturally occurring citrus product extracted from the peels of oranges, lemons, and grapefruit. D-Limonene has been proven to destroy dust mites and other common allergens that can cause respiratory problems.

Major universities, health organizations, and the EPA warn us against the harmful effects of exposure to dust mites and their allergens. Dust mites have a significant role in many asthma cases, and may contribute to hay fever and various other allergic ailments.

There are many steps we can all take to help eliminate dust mites, and make our homes healthier places to live.

  • Vacuum often! We can’t stress this enough. When you vacuum your carpets you remove live and dead dust mites, as well as their source of nourishment: dead skin.
  • Reduce the humidity in your home. Dust mites cannot drink, so they can only live in humidity higher than 50%, and thrive in humidity over 70%.
  • Clean your bed linens often – in hot water – at least once a week.
  • Vacuum your kitchen and hard surface floors at least once a week.
  • Clean your carpets! CitruSolution is a natural anti-allergen. Our solution contains d-Limonene, a naturally occurring extract of citrus peels. d-Limonene has been proven to destroy dust mites and many other common allergens that cause respiratory distress.

Our process is a cleaner, healthier, and overall more effective way to clean and protect your carpet. Our CitruSolution is combined with an antimicrobial to provide a natural way to provide allergy relief, reduce mildew, and fight dust mites.

We are effective against nearly all manner of stains and carpet wear, and we don’t leave your carpet soapy, sticky, or laden with chemicals. Add that to our guarantee to NEVER add hidden fees or charges, and that’s why we are the most trusted carpet cleaning company in Colorado Springs, CO.

We love our pets, but they don’t always share our appreciation of clean carpets. Our powerful dry cleaning fluid process with antimicrobial solution eliminates 99% of bacteria and germs. It also leaves your carpets smelling citrusy fresh, and eliminates urine smells and deters pets from repeat accidents.

Of course, carpets need attention, just like your pets. That’s why between our recommended 2/year visits be sure to vacuum 2-3 times a week and regularly empty your vacuum bag. If your pet has an accident in need of immediate attention, spot clean your carpet with a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. Allow the area to dry and then finish with our CitruSpotter Carpet Stain Remover, free every time your favorite Colorado Springs carpet cleaner comes to the rescue.

Spots reappearing typically are caused by one of a couple culprits. Either something sticky on your carpet is attracting debris and dirt, usually an off-the-shelf foamy or soapy spot cleaner. Resurfacing spots could also be caused by the soapy carpet cleaning products used by our competitors. They might even use extra soap to try and remove the stain, which ultimately only makes the problem worse.

They also use tons of water, which helps wick up stains buried in your carpet. Though it rarely happens, if a stubborn spot returns after we’ve left, you can just remove it with the bottle of CitruSolution we leave at every visit.

Vacuuming once or twice a week is the first step. Vacuums help remove abrasive debris in your carpet that can wear down your fibers, causing undue wear and tear. You should also consider ditching soapy household spot cleaners in favor of our CitruSpotter, which we leave behind for free with every visit.

We also recommend that you avoid traditional steam cleaning, which is like shampooing your hair without rinsing out the soap. We use a dry cleaning fluid process, to reduce mildew-causing moisture. Additionally, the product and technique that we use is powered by d-limonene, the environmentally sound solvent that is made from actual citrus rinds. There’s no better option than our formula when it comes to cleaning and degreasing. Plus, nothing smells so fresh!

We request that you please move everything in an area you want cleaned. It’s a liability for us to move your property, though we are more than happy to help move a few items if you need a hand. We recommend moving items to a room not being cleaned, like a kitchen.

This condition, known as “air infiltration” is caused by your carpet literally filtering the dirt out of the air in your house. Sealing your air ducts or installing air filters should reduce this dark area.

Skip the expensive products! You’re just paying for advertising and more soap- or bleach-based formulas that can make the problem worse. If you don’t have any of our CitruSpotter on hand, mix up a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. If you still need help, give us a call and we’d be happy to offer you some more specific advice.

Q.  Citrsmall-orange-guyuSolution uses a “deep cleaning” method. What does that mean?

“Deep cleaning” is an industry term used in contrast to “maintenance cleaning.” The latter is a superficial cleaning, which does not address traffic areas and spots. Many residential cleaning companies call maintenance cleaning “basic cleaning.”  Then, they upsell to what you really need. CitruSolution only performs the deep cleaning method. That is why we do not have cheap coupons or specials.

Q. I havsmall-orange-guye Oriental rugs. Is CitruSolution safe to use on them?

Yes. We clean many rugs. I have several older Oriental rugs in my home, and I clean them regularly with CitruSolution. Most Oriental rugs made after 1910 use synthetic dyes. We always check for colorfastness before we clean each rug. Cleaning with CitruSolution brightens the colors and removes embedded soil that causes excessive wear. Most people do not notice how dirty their rugs are because the pattern hides the soil, unlike solid colored carpets. Once cleaned, the colors pop. In addition, our low-moisture cleaning does not use excessive steam or water that could harm your hardwood floors in the process.

small-orange-guyQ. Do you clean upholstery too? My children are small and they spill on our chairs and sofa in the den.

Every week we clean sofas, loveseats, chairs, and sectionals. Even if you do not have children or pets in your home, you rest arms and hands on the furniture. Some of our skin oils rub off, and this oil attracts dirt. Regular vacuuming helps, but every couple of years these items need a deep cleaning.  If you have kids or pets, this becomes even more important.

small-orange-guyQ. I lived in Atlanta for five years and used the local CitruSolution Carpet Cleaning company. Does CitruSolution of Middle Tennessee use the same process? I loved the way you cleaned my carpets!

Yes, it is exactly the same process. We pre-spray the same citrus powered cleaner, activate it using the dirt napper system, and finish with the Lindhaus Health Pro vacuum. You get the same great results. It cleans better, dries faster, stays cleaner longer, and it smells great. We price at a flat rate per room. We don’t upsell all those extras that most carpet cleaning companies do. We don’t sell fabric protectors because you don’t need them with CitruSolution. Our non-sudsing product doesn’t contribute to re-soiling. We don’t charge extra for pretreating any spots, traffic areas, or even pet spots. We also give you a free quart bottle of our CitruSpotter, so you don’t have to buy a soapy, foamy spot cleaner. We will work hard to keep you as a CitruSolution client.

small-orange-guyQ. My neighbor said her son’s allergy symptoms improved after she got her carpet cleaned.
Is that possible?

Absolutely! We constantly hear of an abatement of allergy symptoms after we clean carpets. Carpet cleaning can reduce the allergens in the carpet, thereby improving indoor air quality. No vacuuming or carpet cleaning process removes all allergens or dust mites from the carpet, despite what some companies claim. We believe our citrus based cleaner is a healthier and a more effective way to protect your carpet, upholstery and rugs. Our primary ingredient is extracted from citrus peels and has a proven track record in the treatment of environmental issues related to respiratory problems, dust mites, etc. Our CitruSolution cleaner, when combined with an antimicrobial (Benefect), has provided relief from allergy symptoms for many of our clients.

We also recommend the use of disposable electrostatic air filters for your heat and air supply. Remember, your central air fan only filters air when it’s running. Fall and Spring are when you need it the most and it runs the least. Consider running the fan on manual during these seasons. Regular vacuuming with a good vacuum (we use the Lindhaus hospital grade vacuum during our carpet cleaning process) will also help to reduce allergens.

small-orange-guyQ. I have two large dogs that not only shed, but at times have “accidents” on my carpet. What would be your recommendation on how to get rid of the urine smell and stains?

Yes, at times it seems like all our pets want to do is leave deposits on our carpet. It makes you wonder if they want to buy it! With its powerful dry cleaning fluid process, CitruSolution will not only leave your carpets smelling great, but when combined with an antimicrobial (Benefect), will actually eliminate the urine smell in your carpets and serve as a deterrent to your pets using the same area. Our cleaner, powered by citrus cleaning agents, eliminates 99% of the bacteria and germs associate with a “guilty” pet.

Carpets need attention just like pets. Vacuum 2-3 times a week, check your vacuum bag and empty it regularly. We recommend with pets and children, that you get your carpets cleaned at least once a year. It is not realistic to call a professional cleaner after each “guilty” pet incident. You can still count on CitruSolution to keep your home environment moving in the right direction.

If your pet does have an accident that requires immediate attention, do not clean the area with soap and water, but spot clean your carpet by using a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. After removing the majority of the urine stain with the white vinigar and water, allow it to dry and finish the process with our CitruSpotter Carpet Stain Remover.

small-orange-guyQ. I have just replaced my carpet. My old carpet was matted down and seemed to get dirty quickly. What can I do to make my new carpet last longer?

The best way to extend the life of you carpet is to VACUUM, VACUUM, VACUUM! Like any other fabric, carpet will last longer with proper maintenance. Frequent vacuuming prevents abrasive soils from cutting and prematurely wearing the fiber. In addition, avoid using carpet cleaning processes and spot cleaners that leave a soapy, foamy residue behind. This can trap abrasive particles and soils in your carpet and can cause chemical discoloration. Would you shampoo your hair and leave the soap in? The same goes for your carpets.

The CitruSolution Carpet Cleaning process is an almost dry cleaning fluid process with a twist of lemon, orange and grapefruit. Our cleaner is powered by citrus cleaning agents extracted from citrus peels. The citrus helps fights yellowing and oxidation that can dull your carpet, similar to how the lemon juice in a fruit salad keeps the bananas and apples from discoloring. If you have an unusual spot you don’t know how to clean, call us for advice. Most stains can be removed with proper and immediate treatment.
